Past Experience: On Gaunt CHARACTER: Name: Pollux Sirius Black Age/Birthdate: July 12th, 1912 (age 24) Wand: 12 inches, black cherry, dragon heart string. Bloodline: Pure-blood Why this character?: Because twenty million other Black's are hanging around and I couldn't resist joining them and it'll be awesome to tease the mickey out of Marius! And we must secretly be creating an army of Black family members. =D What the Lexicon says: A lot of incorrect information. PB: Jared Leto Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual but he's open minded about other people being homosexual Personality: Pollux was an extremely courteous and kind boy, he was well behaved in his early years and an eager learner, he loved to be approved of and sought to make his parents proud, that idea however, changed when Pollux discovered the truth behind Marius' wounds. Once that came out of the closet so to speak this once endearing child turned to a full blown open resistance, he was rebellious against his father's wishes and started to make havoc of himself in an odd attempt to make his father see that shame can come in any form, not just by magical blood. Towards the rest of his family though Pollux was a loving child to some extent and a very doting brother, he loved to give and give to his siblings and played with them as often as he could, Marius being some five years younger than him was what Pollux called his "wing man" whom he adored and cherished and tried to keep safe as often as he could. Towards the rest of the world Pollux didn't share that same traditional Black mindset of total superiority. He was open to all people if not completely accepting. Discrimination was hard for him to do as his most prized sibling was one of those people he would have to hate if he did and he just wasn't capable of doing that. When it comes to himself Pollux is extremely intelligent, curious, energetic, he has a great sense of humor and is absolutely confident in himself. He's sure of who he is and what he's entitled to and carries that haughty air of Black around him but doesn't use it to intimidate people. He's very kind and tries to be understanding which aided in his relationship with his children as he was always patient with them and tried very hard to be a part of their lives and not just the man they called father. Children: Walburga, Alphard (deceased), Cygnus II (deceased) Wife: Irma Black nee Crabbe (deceased) Pollux gets on extremely well with his family. His parents raised him to be extremely courteous and kind to everyone especially to his elders and very much so to his younger siblings, though he often teased Cassiopeia and Marius for the fun of it while openly adoring Dorea just to bug the other two more. When it came to his own children though Pollux was a little strict with them in some sense but far more lax with them in others, he taught them to be kind towards family members but otherwise let the Black mindset sink into them instead of teaching them to be open and friendly about it like he was. When it comes to Pollux and his cousins he's rather friendly with them and adores the lot of them, indeed, he looked up to them for a great many years despite the distance in their ages. Arcturus was what a son of Black should be and took up his mantle quite well as the Heir and Pollux never envied him the position for the sheer responsibility it entitled and besides he'd rather disgraced himself with the scandal with Irma anyway. As for Regulus, well they were closer in age but perhaps no closer as friends... and for the female cousins, well Pollux was a charming boy and loved them all very greatly. Personal History: Pollux was born in 1912 to Cygnus and Violetta Bulstrode, he is the oldest child of four and undoubtedly the favorite one of them all. He spent his childhood being adored by his father and learning everything he could from him at a very early age, it was during this time that he proved himself to be a natural learner that had a curiosity for all things and was quite capable of mastering them. His bursts of magic begun when he was 7 years old and accidentally (or so he claims) turned Cassiopeia's cat a bright turquoise color that he tried to wash off in the pond outside. His early childhood went by with very little events to remark upon, the family was wealthy enough to survive in very high luxury and little worry and so few things went awry, save perhaps for the brood of children that popped up in the next ten years. Cassiopeia is the closest to Pollux in age, being some 2 years younger than him while Marius his brother is 5 and little Dorea some 8 years his junior. In 1923 Pollux was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry where he was sorted into Slytherin, but unbeknownst to the family the hat had really wanted to place him in Ravenclaw, but knowing his father would approve more Pollux chose the former house, of course where he met and quickly realized he adored, Irma Crabbe, his future wife. She was his greatest friend and still his most despised enemy for his entire first year at school, which was a blast by any means as he really did enjoy learning. But since he was away at Hogwarts learning his magical heritage he was unaware of the animosity and slow discovery of his then 5 year old brother Marius' being a squib. Tension was thick in the house over holidays and somehow him being home didn't seem to cheer his younger siblings, save for Dorea who was too young to notice the difference. But alas the holidays went by and both Cassiopeia and Pollux were shipped off to Hogwarts for the year again. And since both of the oldest children were now gone away neither of them could shield Marius from the disasters that their father wrought upon him in his anger and disgust. Pollux was disturbed to find his younger brother, whom he adored very much, wounded and unable to walk even around the house without aid when he came back for winter holiday. It was from an extremely distressed and crying Marius that Pollux learned the whole story of his trauma and upon hearing it lost a considerable amount of respect for his father. This incident caused a lot more rebelliousness from Pollux whom made it his personal mission to take more of his father's negative attention unto himself instead of it being aimed at his poor brother now hopelessly trapped at home. This rebellious attitude began at home with Pollux openly defying his father and going against his wishes while causing general havoc and stress around the house which often ended up with Pollux in spots of trouble, only one or twice incidences resulting him in being struck. The whole time during his rebellion Pollux always attempted to protect and shield his brother, counting on his sisters to stand by his side. Pollux's rebel ways continued when he went back to school, he hated knowing that he was there learning what was his by birthright while his brother was at home suffering and so his interest in his lessons waned and he slowly started losing his high marks in his classes, causing trouble by fighting both with fists and magic in school, getting detentions left and right, and indeed this was the year that everything fell apart. Being a boy and having just come into puberty as any young teen was wont to do he sought out a sexual partner for experimentation, whom he landed with was Irma Crabbe, his still best friend. Together, with their new teenaged horny ways, the children copulated and resulted in Irma's and Pollux's first child. Both of them were just 13 years old (1925). This incident won an inordinate amount of anger from Cygnus whom for the first time beat his eldest and most adored child when he came home for winter break of that year. The pregnancy didn't really affect Pollux's education as much as it did Irma's, she was forced to leave Hogwarts before completing her 3rd year in order to birth the child, it was a girl that the two named Walburga. Since this whole scandal occurred and the world was privy to it the Crabbe's and Black's arranged a marriage between the two that would happen the summer that the two turned 15. Unfortunately since they both attended Hogwarts while the two families cared for the babe, the two couldn't very well avoid each other and that same year (1927) they were to be married Irma Crabbe got pregnant again. This time with a boy, Alphard. The scandal was huge now and the name of Black effectively diminished or at least plastered over everyone who cared to remark upon its lips. Pollux enjoyed this scandal quite openly as it took away some of the shame from his squib brother and was instead focused on Pollux. 5th year won the young Black a handful of O.W.L's of surprisingly good marks considering his lapse in his education over the years, proving that just because he didn't do his homework didn't mean he wasn't learning. The summer of that year Irma and Pollux were married, the wedding was a huge deal in order to assure everyone that the scandal was quite over with and a legitimate occurrence even though most of the population that cared knew it wasn't. The next two years passed without much to think over and Pollux and Irma effectively finished school and graduated, while sharing an agreement not to tell their parents she was pregnant again. Once it came out though, the Black's were riled but could do nothing other than whisper behind their backs as the two were married after all. This child would be the last, it was another son, Cygnus (1929). By this time of course the Black family had fallen apart, Marius had run away from home, Pollux had begotten three children and was living in the Crabbe manor house that was Irma's dowry and was now working to support his family. His career took off when he got a job in the Ministry of Magic working in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. His job paid well enough that Irma didn't have to work but could focus her attention on raising their children, now ages 4, 2 and a few months old, respectively. The somewhat happy family however wouldn't last long as Irma was diagnosed with an illness very rare in wizards and slowly started to sink into a mad depression which she lived with for some 8 years before finally dying. Her death wounded Pollux but ultimately he was man enough not to follow her but continued on with the raising of his children, Walburga being 12 now and doing swimmingly at Hogwarts. Pollux worked less certainly and focused what remained of his attention upon his youngest children, Alphard 10, Cygnus who was just 8 years old at the time of his mother's death. The only thing to remark upon after that was Walburga's marriage to her first cousin Orion, which Pollux protested but was in the end persuaded to allow to happen and eventually Dorea's and Alphard's death (1977) the latter being disowned by Walburga for aiding her oldest son in his need. The rest of Pollux's life went on unremarked, he never remarried as his children refused it and instead worked on his career, being brilliant enough and a hard enough worker to eventually land himself in the Wizengamot where he worked for many years, where he left his last legacy in an attempt get his grandson Sirius Black out of Azkaban or at least a fair trial, neither were successful and finally Pollux retired to live off of the Black family legacy he was given upon his father's death some 35 years previously. He never saw or spoke to Marius again and shared a teetering relationship with his sister Cassiopeia and a fair number of cousins. But of course this precarious lifestyle ended rather abruptly; Pollux outlived all of his children, finally dying himself in 1990. Cygnus met his death in 1979 and Walburga in 1985.
